Dinner with Sean @ City Hall

Jio'ed sean out for dinner last friday as his partner was not around n he was pretty 'eng' n bored. *Hey if u see this post better do something about it hor* >_-So we met for dinner. Was thinking of visiting the Jap resturant that is 'marche' style but it was SUPER PACKED!!! The queue reach almost the water feature near the escalator!!! Some more got 'Zig Zag' one...

End up walking to the other side of raffles city n settled at Aerin's. Coz i saw the 10% discount for capital card holders. (Apparantly i am pretty "yao gui" for discount one. lol) I would say the ambience is there. Nice water feature right smack in the middle of the resturant some wat made the dining experience pretty peaceful.

Some of the this we ordered,

Mushroom Bruschetta, which was a bit not worthed the $$$. Lightly marinated triple mushroom sean guessed were oyster, shitake and button mushroom. They are placed on top of a crunchy bread which is thus called brushetta. But i find them neither tasty nor nice to eat.

Spaghetti that sean ate was tomato based, so i didnt try them. But the sausages looked like "taiwan xiang chang" lol. But not the taste la. ;)

The expensive duck confit that josh ate was very very salty. Nicely cooked though, but jus too salty, maybe the caramelised onion should blend in well, but i didnt get to eat them together... T_T

I had the cajun grilled chicken. Which taste like... The chicken chop i would get to eat at clementi. lol. But i like the greens they put on top. A very 'meaty' taste coz the leaves is pretty thick n soft.

After dinner we were walking around the mall when a lady approached us. She was selling...

Farmers shoes... Funny shoes which look very very lady-like. But the group of ladies took a very long time to convince us that they are unisex n they look nice when u wore it. So i gave it a try. Well, u all say loh, not auntie meh?!? lol. Sorry no offence but sean was going "aiyoh, auntie! How do u do?" !@#$%^&*

Well, even after the strap is strapped behind they still dun look good... So sorry loh...

After walking around the shopping centre, we walked across to liang seah street for tea n desserts.

As the chicken didnt really satisfy my tummy much, i opted for the tofu cheese and the cheese camembert. The cheese mozza tofu is actually quite nice n i think easy to make. Tofu with teriyaki sauce i think n minced beef. topped with mozzarelle cheese. Tasty, chewy n satisfying. :)

The cheese camembert came with a sweet n sour fruit paste to go with, which i dun like. But the cheese is slightly charred. Maybe it should be prepared this way? Dun know...

Lastly i ordered the cinnimon coffe which is pretty unique for me. The coffee it self is normal but they served with the cinnimon stick for u to stir n the flavour goes into the coffee. First time trying n i would say its not that bad. :)

BIG lunch!!!

Had a great lunch in class with 5 other classmates of mine. Ordered Stufit chicken.
For more info, visit www.stufit.com.sg.
The delivery man came with a big sulky face, maybe because our class is pretty hard to find. Nevertheless, the food looks great. We ordered 3 chickens, thinking that they are spring chicken size, n 10 wings (thats the minimum amount) n 10 chicken balls (also the minimum amount).

The boxes came pretty well presented.

First we had the chicken meat balls which turned out to have 30 of them!!! Guess, $1.80 is for 3 balls as we ordered 10, = 30. They are pretty nice n chewy. Taste almost like IKEA swedish meat balls. But halal style. :)

The chicken wings look like normal chicken wings, untill u eat them...

No, i am not talking about chicken wings in another angle...

They are boneless!!! n stuff with prawns! Wah.... *drooling.. Nicely battared with slight crisp and warm even after the delivery.

We kinda got these "cheese in a can" thingy last night n brought it in today n they go real well with the chicken!

There are the three chickens!

Braised one with mushroom rice, the prefered out of the two which we opened. Yes, three is too much of us, luckily i stopped them from opening all... This one is wet n juicy as compared to the other one. The mushroom inside was a "to dig for" stuff. Light mushroom rice goes jus well with the heavy braised sauce. Slightly on the salty side for some but diffenately jus nice for me. (coz i eat rather salty one. lol)

See, as i tried to cut open the chicken... "Wait wait wait... Argh!!..."

I was overwhelmed by hands reaching in to grab a piece of, then chicken... :( Picture of the chicken "blown up" I actually have to stop all those hungry 'monster' to take this pictures u know or not?!?

Roast chicken with chicken rice was the next one. After savouring the braised one, this drier chicken didnt recieve much appreciation. Though to me the chicken was nicely roasted. Credits must go to them for the good roastings skill. We must also comment on how good the chicken is de-boned and stuffed with the rice. The trick must be at the bottom but we didnt leave much time to check them out as they were "Massacred" right after the first knife went in. :)

Left the buttered rice chicken to be tested. Maybe tea break? lol

More pictures below.

Me trying to "disect" the chicken. lol

Melissa to bored out waiting for me to cut them up. "Oei! Hurry up la! bot tok yao liao"

Winfield grabing for the best cut! "Siam! siam!"

Jeremy enjoying the meatballs with tons on cheese... "Meatballs with cheesy ice-cream"

"Ha ha ha ! I have conquered the table of chickens!!!"

Opps, the last two pieces of chicken is mine!!!

Wahahaha...At the end of the day, the damage done...

Dinner @ JH-VVN's sweet home

Well, although exams is near, i still managed to steal a quick meal at JH-VVN's place. And its a "atas" meal with "atas" setting. Look below to see the photos. Well, they got this new house which is not yet fully furnished. And the couple hav been using it as a chalet home for them to host dinners n get together. Which is pretty nice of them.
Their sweet home is at Jur West, where we previously went to BBQ. lol I wonder if i blog that before. The smoke n mess we created.... This time, the house has more furniture n looks great! Didnt take much photo as the impt thing is the dinner.

Food tat DH n VVN prepared that day, (from Clockwise, Watercress n sweet onion soup by DH - Interesting combi. A mixture of chinese n western flavours. Stir fried prawns by VVN - Simple yet nice dish. To bad the prawns were not tat fresh. Baked baby potatos by DH - Not my cup of tea, as i nvr liked potatos. But its relatively tasty. I heard there is jus salt in it. Not bad. Ceaser's salad with fake bacon bits by DH. Not a fan of greens too, some more its not chilled enough. Hence u get to eat soggy greens without bacon. Oh, there is no sauce too... Making it even less appeal to me. lol. My tasting tends to be a bit heavy. Pls pardon me.)

On top of this there is also grilled chicken by VVN. Which i forgot to take. Coz when it came, we jus gobble it up. Wahaha. They are nice too. Lots garlic which i like. :)

The gang of us, The guy in red is DH, chef for the salad, potato n soup. VVN is the only girl. The guy in green is JH n WS is jus too drunk to take a photo. lol. The setting is nice hor! Machiam is restuarant sia! Some more got red wine glass n tea lights!

Next one the menu is Dessert by DH. Very easy dish but score on the estheticity. lol Dragon fruit dug out n chop into cubes n place sweet corn icecream on the skin n the fruit n top. Nice hor!

After which we slack around n chat till midnight before we bid goodbye to the host. Thanks too~ N end up playing DOTA with WS at bukit timah till err... 6am. lol. Haha, i still managed to wake up at 8am to do my work before going to school to study.

That sum up my weekend, n next week is gonna be busy coz i NEED to study my exams...

BBQ @ WC Park

Had an unusual BBQ session with a bunch of people of similar interest organised by Derold. N josh was made the chief chef of the day. Or rather the only chef of the day. lol.

It was actuall raining that afternoon. In fact, there was a thunder storm. But somehow or rather, i didnt called the organiser, coz somewhere in my heart, i was thinking, things wouldnt turn out that bad. N it really didnt. :) It pretty much stopped raining completely the moment we stepped into the park. First, the four of us, including ben, recced the place for a possible makeshift BBQ campsite. Yes, apparantly we didnt book the BBQ pits. They were fully booked. Well, we werent the only people around enjoying the holiday. (FYI, its actually a day not to be celebrated, according to the christian or catholics. Details, i dun know. Ask ur fellow "ahlehruya" p.s. Its a joke, sorry if i offend anyone there.)

Site 1; A empty shelter at the corner of the park, surprisingly not occupied. Judging from the number of people in the park. Made a quick dash to the place. Before we actually entered the shelter, i made a comment, "it so near the bushes, surely many mosquitoes..." Then i got a reply, "Well, since we are here to feed ourselves, it wouldnt do much harm if we feed others too." lol. So we jus walked in. In approximately 30secs in the shelter, i sensed something is wrong. There seems to be quite a number of mosquitoes around. Expecially when its right after the rain. A quick glance below my chest, 10-15 mosquitoes flying around me... Quick nudge n short jump, "lets get out of here! So many mosquitoes!!! Argh!!!" *PIAK!!!* "Sorry boy, i think u drank enough to ur grave..."

BBQ was amazing, or rather josh made it so. Well, he kinda made a lot of nice food. Esp stuffs which i like. Thanks! There were...

An overview of the pits n food we had.

Big prawns! Mildly seasoned to bring out its original taste! Love em!

Bacon with asparagus! My fav Tori Q food. Sinful meat with a touch of vege. Now its a healthy food! Didnt get to eat the mushroom ones...

Pork slices. Thick n juicy pork in herbs. Simply tantalising... There were another simple teriyaki sauces.

Seafood parcel. Josh trademark dish. He whips out this dish when i first went to his BBQ in 2006 n its has been my fav since. He did another parcel this time n its sotong stuffs with minced pork with chestnuts! Definately on my booking list next time he BBQ. Too bad i didnt get photos of it. But i think it would be rather difficult to make since u need to stuffs the pork inside.

How can a BBQ goes without wings! They are a must have. This time josh did teriyaki and honey. Mind u, this guys make his own teriyaki sauce using the basics. N they are goooood...

This is the great chef!

"Cookers" or "BBQers" of course i am also one...

Ouch! Its on fire!!!

N these are the "eaters"

More eaters!!!

After BBQing, we adjourned to mac for drinks n small talks. Oh, its my first time meeting Ronnie too, n a couple of other friends too. Mmm... short talk s became long talks as we had a great talking sessions together.

Wat a great day n great people we met today!
All thanks to the chef n organiser! n me too. :) er... for eating the food. lol.
