Yes, thats wat i do in Xiamen the last two days. Jus got here after a two nights stay at Jiang Zhou. Got here n the stuff recommended a upgrade to another room where we will get club access n better view n better services liek free drinks n free internet access (thats y i can blog now). Shall post some photos of the rooms next time i blog from my home. The club access also features free usage of the club lounge at 5-8pm. Where u can drink wat ever is offer there n eat some snacks. N they dun mean twisties or potato chips. But beef steaks (very thin slices but still very nice), sushi, cakes, quiches, blar blar. By the time me n my mum finish eating, we couldnt eat dinner anymore. lol
Went to walk around "Zhong Shan Lu" One of the busiest shopping district in Xiamen. Luckily my mum told me to book some hotel near this street, if not we will have trouble getting transport to shop. Actually there is not much to shop. Beside the local *very expensives* brand, n those cannot make it brand, there is really nothing much. Oh, there is one shopping mall that sells a few branded stuff. The building is so quiet that we felt pretty awkard to walk there. But one thing i have to say about shopping in xiamen or jiang zhou, u will always be gretted by a warm smile n "huan ying guan lin". This is something most singapore shops lacks ba. N the hotel services is good too. From jiang zhou to here, i feel even though there is a difference in the grade of the hotel, there is still a certain courtesy amongst them.
Oh, i forgot teh food. So we have a nice dinner cum teabreak at the hotel club lounge. We have a great american breakfast at the hotel cafe in the morning. Saugagues, ham, eggs, fried rice, fried mee sua (very common here n very nice), porridge, salads, blar blar blar. to many to mention... After that one of the goverment members came n brought us around. She was on of my fathers aquantances before. Lunch we had seafood at some well known restuarant. N there were lotsa seafood at xiamen n jiang zhou. One special dish we ate is... MUD SKIPPER... they cooked it in soup n actually taste nice. :) Others like oyster n bamboo clams are a few common dished here. After a heavy lunch, we adjourned to the hotel. The officials here, or government bodies here have a practice of afternoon breaks. They will jus go home at 1120 n rest till around 1500 the start work again. So this official is the same. N we followed them too. lol. short afternoon nap at the hotel before they come back at 4pm.
After this we went to the "CHEN JIA JU" tomb. walk walk see see n took photos. n we went to eat dinner again.... at around 6, we went to a well know duck mee sua rest. Had duck mee sua (which is actually those "shi quan da bu ya tang" then mis with mee sua. N there were shoft shell PRAWNS?!? I think most have tried soft shell crabs but prawns? lol. They actually taste the same. Fried the same way. so taste the same loh.
So here i amk, after meal at 8am, 11am, 6pm, super full, drinking a bottle of corona with compliments from the hotel. lol. *burp
Got to go back to room le, later mum alone at room worried.
Will update again later with photos.
