Astons @ Jur East

Bored today after finishing my chores, I decided to venture out to grab some nice food alone. Well, as i tot, eating alone is damn boring. Esp when its somethings interesting. Sigh... Missing my Makan Khaki, Josh, as he goes for ICT @ Sungei Gudong.

Venue: Astons Express @ Jurong East
Food: Prime Tenderloin (medium) w tasty rice n coleslaw
Damage: $24.90

Its kinda located at the end corner of the coffe shop next to shop and safe. If u dun look closely, u might miss the stall.

For every main course u could get two side dishes. Wanted to get the baked potatos or house salad as they look more interesting then french fries. But they mentioned its not available. So i chose the "tasty" rice and the coleslaw. Note that i put "" over the tasty word. Later u will know why...

After a short wait, the meal has arrived.

The portion was surprisingly small... Kinda disappointed, though i know tenderloin is pretty ex, but i tot they are, u know, coffeshop style, could be a bit cheaper.

Whipped out my F100 n start to take photos. Thanks to the good lightning in the coffeshop, i managed to take pretty nice pics. n i realised that there is a Blog trimming button where they will automatically cut it n shrink it to blog size. Which is pretty cool for me. But the picture below i guess its not really well taken. Need to learn the correct modes to apply to take good pics.

Right after i took the photos, i immediately cut open right in the centre of the two pieces of meat in front of me. Want to see how well they prepare the meat to my preference. Well, i can say i was dissappointed again coz only the smaller piece they managed to cooked it to medium, the other one, as u can see below is more medium rare to me. More bloody red. Sorry that i didnt took photos of the smaller piece coz er... cant resist to the meat. lol

Medium rare tenderloin i would say. Not my type of meat.

Next is the coleslaw. Definately home made. A bit soury to me. (I dun like sour stuffs) Not much mayo to go with the coleslaw. Most ladies would actuall love it coz mayo is pretty fattening. So i guess its more market stragety here. :)

"Tasty" rice... y i put "" because it not tasty at all... Sad n disappointed. The rice is fried with carrots and i think the rice is too sticky. Turn out the whole pile of rice is the... er... "Nua nua" type. Not nice. Light seasoning as i gues the important taste is the meat more then the rice. Will try the house salad n Baked potatos next time. Worst come to worst, get teh french fries. lol

Well, Josh must be cursing n swearing as he reads this coz he was the one who mentioned this stall to me. And i kinda agreed to eat it together with him. But dun worry, :) i am pretty sure i can go again for the not so expensive cuts. To see if its justifiable for its popularity. :D
