New room, New life!

Yes! After three gruesome weeks of renovating, my room is FINALLY completed.
Instead of going for the usual "Extreme" red outfit, i have turned to white, white and white.... That is all thanks to my "Designer" sister.

Not to say that she designed it badly, but instead, i was pretty greatful that she gave quite a bit of advices to me. To achieve the current state of my room - Designer class tables with classy cabinets, jus lacks the little red in the blood. :(

Oh, she did mentioned that i should get RED items to doll up the room instead. So she volunteered to get me a red bedsheet---A MICKEY MOUSE one... True enough its RED but... U will see it below. :)

Nevertheless i am so happy with the results. Finally i got a working table and a whole lot of space for me to store my stuffs. That is, also with the help of emptying "unwanted trashes" out of my room and into the dustbin. :)

Also, with the help of the room reno, i am able to derive my new year resolution.

"NOT TO TAKE/GET/BUY THINGS THAT ARE NOT USEFUL/WILL NOT BE USED"

I find that i have lotsa unnecessary stuffs. Like stuff toys, some i tried to "catch" in arcades and many i got it from weddings. Old HP boxes, i keep them even though my hp is spoilt. even the spoilt hp is inside. Things that are free gifts, like photo albums, notebook, 1997 diary from M1, blah blah. They are good to get for free, but once you dun used them, they take up space. Yet you dun bear to throw them coz they "might be" useful some day. So keep, keep, keep, keep until 2-3 years. Ultimately, then end up in the dustbin.

So i am stop going to pick up such items. Not going to spent $$$ on those arcade "Winne the Pooh" catcher. Not going to buy things that looks good to have but are useless...

Oh, a photo of my new reno'ed room:

Nice cabinet of nine. It would have been better if they are RED!?!

Check out the MICKEY MOUSE bedsheet!!! lol

Thank you CF!

I dedicate this window to thank CF for making me very nice "bahu" rolls for me yesterday!

We were having a casual lunch together over at North Canal Road, [Mmm... Sidetrack a bit. We had some nice prawn noodles there which i pretty like. This thursday we going to eat Broadway prawn noodles along temple street!!! :)] when we started to talk about new year goodies and she mentioned that she is going to make some prawn rolls. I told her that i love bahu ones but always cannot find. Then next thing i know, i was holding to a box of handmade "bahu" roll... Ohhh.. so nice of her. :)

Oh, didnt managed to take a photo coz.... it already in my stomach!!! lol

Christmas at JHVVN's place!

Its great when good friend get together and its even better when there are prezzies to open!!! So we were at JHVVN's place over the weekend before Christmas. (I was in New Caledonia on christmas day, so i cant be there on that day right?)

Christmas dinner was BBQ food and other brought by everyone. Didnt know it "POTLUCK" in the first place. Got lotsa stuffs for the dinner. [DH u have to pay me the spag and stuffs!!!] lol. But BBQ wasnt a really good idea coz we had to wait quite a while for the food to be cooked. I brought marinated chicken wings, pork slices and scallops... Got helped from josh with the marinate though. lol. He got all those funny ideas in marinating. And they turn out quite nice!

JHVVN's nice looking dining table.

Christmas tree we got for them last year!

Nice hor the tree, it was a 2meter high tree if i am not wrong. We shared quite a bit of $$$ to get that coz we all feel that a tree have to be tall to look nice and it is indeed! Especially with the simple and nice decors on the trees.

After the nice food, we sat down and start to open our prezzies!!! First of all, a photo of our prezzies!

JHVVN with their prezzie.

DH and his prezzies,

CF will never forget her prezzie was wrapped in her tote bag that she brought! WS didnt even bother to wrap for her! Poor CF...

JHVVN and the Bingo set, Addidas perfume and thumb drive that he wants and a Digital Photo Frame from me n WS. (Its the most ex prezzie!!!)

CF and her skin care products, scarf and water bottle. (The water bottle is nice hor!~ Jus a bit not suitable to bring out of work though. :P)

WS and his... OMG... was is that look??? "VIBRO PEN", Mini marjong set and Ultra Cool Laptop Cooler. (Nice hor!)

DH and his T-shirt and Sports towel, CD holder and Decanter (Most worth while present but i was lucky to get it in a sale! :P)
In the end i got a REHAB game from DH,

One nice red Addidas jacket from JH, CF, WS. Since when did i wore a jacket???

Lastly, JHVVN got them a special prezzie, and turns out to be...

Three Shoppping vouchers. lol

Finally...

Yes i finally sitting down in front of my laptop trying to post again. So sorry for those people who came around to read but left empty handed. I will try to post regulary again since i got "sniper" up and running again. yay~

As usually i will post the most recent "happenings"
So i will post this first~

--==Rabbit Seafood Restuarant==--
Location: Far East Plaza, the one opp Taka.

Came to this place when Josh and i were shopping around in Orchard. Got myself a "Braun Baffel" belt coz i kinda misplace mind. lol. Many thanks to singtel with its Tangs voucher that i won in a lucky draw. :) It the one with the huge "BULL" one. I was thinking, if i am going to spent so much money buying a belt, must at least make sure people know i spend so much loh. :P In this case, i guessed its a bit "over" since a short sighted man will be able to see it from far even. lol.

Back to my Rabbit Seafood. Mmm... rabbit and seafood sounds a bit "sala" leh... Turns out its Rabbit brand Abalone and stuffs, just the horse brand. People know horses, how come nobody know rabbit???

This humble restuarant at the second floor of the building surely dun sounds as good as its name. Looking more like kopi tiam stalls that sells food in Sim Lim or Queensway Shopping Centre. But you will be surprised when you step in!

This is the pic of the menu. Small in size, but Big in value!

Abalone at the price of below 12 bucks!!! They serve braised abalone at wholesales price, bundled with rice, tea and a small bowl of dessert. But being not a fan of abalone, i didnt go for it. Got a Jap rice fried rice with abalone and top shell with scallop and XO sauce.

Abalone fried rice

The fried rice got the "Wok" smell which is nice. Didnt see much abalone though but i dun really mind. The fried rice is simple yet tasty, and especially great with the XO sauce!

Josh had the "Buddle jumps over the wall". I highly recommend this coz i fin it very worth while! For $9.50, there are sharkfins, scallop, abalone, fish maw, mushroom, blah blah blah, so much things! Further more it taste great! lol

End up i had to order the sharkfins soup as i really think its worth the $$$.

Turns out its not that bad, but a bit salty to my liking. :P

"Buddah Jumps over the Wall"

Sharkfins soup

Next up, Christmas at JHVVN place.

Part 2

I was grateful as she eventually found a seat and I was so relieved.

This is the kinda great services we get from SQ. Cheers SQ!

Business trip aka "private delivery" trip to KL

Just came to KL this morning to submit a tender document. Sounds like a business trip but look more like a "private delivery" trip.

Arrived at T2 for a MAS flight @ 0950. To my surprised, it was re-timed to 1200. I was shocked! I confronted the counter staff and was told that the plane was changed hence the number of seats decreased. Hence this flight is re-timed..

I wasn't very happy with it and demanded a solution. Saying I need to reach there before lunch for a meeting. The staff couldn't do anything saying that they could change me over to SQ but the next flight (1015hrs) is full too. I couldn't care and ask her to request a seat dr me in SQ. She directed me to SQ counter and to put myself in the standby list. It seems like the best solution at this moment but I felt I will be hanging around in T2 till noon.

Surprisingly, when I approached a staff in SQ, this lady mentioned that it will be tough to get a seat as it's full but will try for me.

"Tang Dian Wang" @ Suntec

Blogging @ this Shanghai rest in suntec.

Ordered the spring onion hainanese chicken, tofu with "bak kwa", "Hong yu chao shou" and vintage fried bee hoon. Ordered the bee hoon coz josh was caving for it in the morning n we missed breakfast.

In the rest~, it's pretty cost coz it's in a dimly litted cool orange theme. Looks rather comfy and inviting.

Food wise, it's just above the 'ok' mark. Most of the time Its because it's quality is much better rather then the taste. Especially the Ginger sauce or the chicken. It's light yet u can taste the full flavour of the Ginger.

Desserts we had red ruby with melon and steam egg. The melon was sweet n the soup was cooling n subtly sweet. But the red ruby was shattered n the chestnut is seperated from the 'reds'. Steam egg was so so... I guessed the Chinatown one is much better.

Maybe could try the dim sum next time.

Dmg done $50 for the two of us...

Golden sands part 4

This pork trotter really stun us when it came. Jus three of us eating, the girl recommend such a heavy weight dish!

But the "wowed" factor carried through the time we put it in our mouth. The "leg" was so tender n soft that much of it melts in ur mouth. Not the huge chunk of meat that I cut out at the same time loh. (pig pig one) :) the sauce is not like those "loh der ka" type so some might be dissappointed. The sauce is wet n diluted, more like a soup to me. But salty la... I like...

Overall, not that kind of "Zhi Char" I was looking for but it the get together that is more worth while. Hopefully can arrange more such outing again.

Golden sands part 3

Wel, like the look of it, this looks like fried duck. Although they have some fancy name as usual but it taste just like wat I named it. LOL.

Nothing special like the previous, but as a duck lover, it is not the bad. It's not those "fried until dry dry" type. But rather wet on the inside. Though I felt if some special sauce over it will raised the flavour so much more!

Golden sands part 2

This is the "Jin Zhi Yu Ye" on the menu. Basically it's "Chye Sim" boiled with fried seaweed on top. Then with some oyster sauce.

More like a novelty to me, coz it sounds nice, looks nice but taste just like "Chye Sim". Unless u are looking for novelty like me for a first time try n probably blogging, I dun recommend trying.

Golden sands @ Ang Mo Kio part 1

YyyUtryetA very impromptu meeting with my old time poly friend leads to a wild dinner at this small coffee shop ien Ang Mo Kio. Of course I dun any how choose la. It is after reading some review from makansutra and some foodie blogs.

If I didn't remember wrongly, the address is 215 Ang Mo Kio at 22.

First we order is this huge plate of crab. Was quite "gianing" for crab since I returned from offshore. Since the websites says the crabs here were good so I try loh.

Well, I think I am not dissappointed with this coz it looks good. Taste well n the crabs were meaty.

Next up "Jin Zhi Yu Ye"

New MRT feature!

Actually I am sqeezing my way in this MRT when I notice this feature.
There is this panel showing the stations map right on top or the door. But instead of a normal map, this time there are led on every station. Indicating which stop your are now and also the route of the train. Very much luke the train feature I saw previously in France. I guessed it's a good feature and now there won't be any excuse of taking the wrong direction train and getting late!
Cool!

Anyway, I might e rather "sua ku" coz it's really been a while since I last step food on singapore. :)

Anyway some photos of the feast me and my old time polymates had at Ang Mo Kio St 22 next time!

Wild day on shore! Last last last part!

Guess they have selective hearig when one had too many beers.

Saved the arguement, I was unhappily eating my breakfast as the other two had theirs and end up having omelette n French bread for brrakfast. Unsatisfying meal loh...

Luckily or this trip I managed to gets some DVDs and a headphone to make Internet calls. Which pretty good for ts price tag - 130,000 VDN = S$14. Cheap. The DVDs were like USD$¹a disc, so we didn't bother to think too much to the selecitions.

Ok finally this ultra long story is done! All thanks to this iPod. N shozu. Now that I can to back to sleep me. Night!

Wild day in shore! Last last part.

So we were suppose to meet at 9.30, before taking the 10am boat back. By 8, I was trying to pull myself up coz I worried I will oversleep. At exactly 9.15 I walk over to ring kevin up. No response... Either he is still sleeping, showering or have already check out. So I went down to check with the recept. turn out he haven check out. I hurried up again as I was worried that he is still sleeping. Rang he doorbell quite a lot of time before he opened the door. Apparantly he was in the phone that's y he didn't answer. LOL.

No one was around, so we check out before going to the other hotel to find the other. Realized the other two is not in their room, but their passwords are still with athe recept. We were thinking, they cant be so drunk last night an totally forgot bout the returning boat?

Took them till 1030 to appear. War happen was they actually got up early n went out for breakfast! When we ask y they didn't stick to the plan of 9.30 they say they didn't hear us say that...

Wild day on shore! Last part.

We drank till 3am n the bar is closing. By then, kevin is already holding hands with a girl n talking about going to the beach. For me, I already know my limit n wanted to go back to hotel le.

In the end, we sorted the scottish guy to one hotel, with his "girlfriend" LOL. While kevin n I checked into the other "clean" hotel. Suite room each!

Apparantly, in Vietnam, there are some hotel which strictly restrict these kinda girls to the hotel. (like the one kevin got for me.) U can easily book one in the other hotel nearby for those "business", but u need to book two rooms. One for the girl, one for the guy. Then whether u wanna do ur "business" in which room it's up to u. LOL.

End up I hardly enjoyed the room cuz I was rather drunk liao. But it's huge! With two toilet n a living room! Maybe I post some pics later.

Oh crap, one last bit before I end...

Wild day on shore! Part 3

We end up at red parrot. But the moment we walked in, a number of girls stormed in front of us, like gold had jus arrived. Oh, must be that scottish friend with us that gave them the impression.

But we only sit down for less then 15 min, got a drink n left. Coz we felt "pressurized" as there were too many of them n the attitude is not right.

So next one we went to Black Cat. This time, kevin knew a few girls there n we started to sit n drink. The Scottish n another were goners, as the sat at the sofa, sleeping. This time we even fit a bottle if tequila! Crap... This is crazy.

By then, u was already quite tipsy liao. So n drink n stop n drink n stop. The girls started to char around, asking me to drink. But I was smart! I fooled around with the drinks n water, end up the girls drink more then me. Wahahaha!

Last part, to be continued...

Wild day on shore! Part 2

Of course, all these drinks came with those bar girls around loh. Two of the guys went straight to the ladies went we entered the bars and they eventually got themselves one each. Definately not for me man! I nvr like this kinda girls loh. Luckily the client was quite a decent chap, so I won't feel awkard around.

But I can see that there are a few who are not there for that kinda "business" loh. In the end I was having a few chats with them. Actually one of them is quite sweet! Kevin likes her though. LOL.

After around 8pm, it was left with kevin n I. The rest have gone to do their "business". They call it "Bombom" LOL. I dun need to explain further la. :p

Dinner was nice. We had a firewood pizza and lamp chop/steak for us. Love the pizza as the crust is thin n ingredients is quality stuff. Finally, fine food after 4weeks!

After that we returned to the bar n saw more people around. Sat down, had another few drinks. N kevin suggested bar hopping.

To be continued...

Wild day on shore! Part 1

Had one of my wildest day on shore last night when the while lot of us had a chance to get on shore for a night.

We are suppose to return late night yesterday but the captain gave us the green light to stay over. And that was the start of a wild wild night...

We reached shore at 1pm and our "tour guide", kevin brought us straight to the VFB bar. That's with coherence with the rest of the guys loh. N all I can do is tag along, I need a food cold beer man...

From ¹to 8, we were drinking n drinking. I had 12bottles of heinken already as every one was busy buying each other beers. We play pool, losers have to "ring the bell" which means buying everyone a drink! Even the owner of the bar bought us a round! That was pretty nice of him. We were all having fun. After a few games, I couldn't help but lost twice and that resulted in a damage of almost USD$100!!!

Drinks were cheap, like USD$5 a cup, but to buy almost 15 pax twice, I realized it's enough for me from the day. LOL.
