On route back to shore.

Time's midnight at this moment. As I gazed over the windows, looking at a wonderful view of the sky. Something you dun see in the city, not even when you are on the DSV or FSO though. It brings me back memories of the times when I was in Australia. During my reservist exercise. When the lights goes out in the camp.

It's a endless roof filled with twinkling stars. So beautiful. Too bad I can't get out on the deck cox I am kinda stuck on the inner rows of the seat and I dun wanna disturb the guy at the edge to get out.

Still need another 8 hrs I hope before we reach shore. Then I will take a break at one of the resorts there before returning home.

Have never missed home that much too. Missed a few get togethers too. As well as my sister birthday! Aiyoh, so more wanted to get her a gift but couldn't make up my mind. Guessed I will have to do it when I am home.

As for now, hopefully I can get tired enough to rest ba.

DSV, FSO bye bye

Some more photos before i left the place.

RUBICON MAVERICK

FSO ORKID

This is how they transfer people around in the sea!

Food in the hotel (M.S. Garden Hotel). Craving for some local delights. So i order the Hokkien mee then. Not that bad, but i guessed the chinese version better ba. No offence ok?

A plate of chicken wings to go with the watermelon juice i got before i go to bed. End up taking 4 out of 6. Wasteed...

Last meal on the DSV!

Finally have to bid good bye to my "High protein" meals on the DSV. It was a bitter sweet good bye. Happy that i am going home, sad that i have to leave this vessel of happiness. lol.

As a grand finale to my meal, i boldly took photos of the food and stuffs, and revealed the must awaited photos of the food. Get ready some pails or buckets, if not u will dehydrate from drooling at them!!! :P

The Dinner, Roast Beef, Grilled Turkey and Sauted Prawns. Also had the coleslaws and fruit salad. Notice the slight pinkishness from the meat. Mmmm... Jus the way i like it. With a slightly salty, but with "kick" pepper sauce to go with... "SEDAP!"

Couldn't resist the desserts this time, so i grabbed lots of it. There were butter cake, peach and apricot halves with vanilla ice-cream on top. Choco moose, custard and choco fludge finishes the sides... Oh... Heavenly sweets....

Sorry for posting the pictures before with the tiny words inside. I was trying to work on the pic before i post them over the slow network. Seems that they are a bit unreadable. To compensate, and also not to let u all strain ur eyes, i took the photo again! This time, with FOOD!?!

This is the salad bar. Notice the salmon and eggs and chilled beef is beneath a chiller, to keep them cold. The other on top are the various salads. U should see something dark purple at the btm left corner. Thats the beetroot i was talking about before. Didn't try them though. lol

Here is the KILLER!!! Check out the roast beef! The turkey on the far end and the prawns on top. Still cant forget that suculent beef.... Ohhh... heaven.... Its a breeze to cut as usually. With mild flavours to bring out the tastiness of the beef. The turkeyis commentable too! Juicy n tender. U wouldn't believe it turkey unless u see the shear size of the meat! Prawn are jus nice. Though its a pity they are not that fresh. Then again, its really tough to keep prawns fresh.

To sum up the dinner, we have the deesert table. With the cheese infront (much lesser this time coz its towards the end of dinner le.), bread at the side. Fruits behind (notice they are beautifully cut), the various vinegar stuffs at the other corner and the dessert on top. Ice-cream to peaches, to custard and choco moose.

That pretty much some up my meals on the DSVs. After i got back tot he FSO for another night. There, the food is much more oriental. Curry chicken, beef redang and sauted vegetables. Oh... back to real life liao... T_T

Sneak preview of food on board!

Yes, after much presuassions from my friends, I finally made up my mind to sneak some photos. (With the excuse that "My mum wants to see the food i ate on board la." Of course, i wouldnt lie, but at this point, the "mum" i am refering to is of course... (u know who la) :P

Actually i already sneak some photos of the galley. But then, its when its empty la. So naturally you dun get to see the food loh. But i did some artwork on it. Maybe it will help. :)

Galley Photo 1.

Galley Photo 2.

Galley Photo 3.

So you have seen the empty galley, now is time for some reall actions! FOOD!!!

This is actually todays dinner. We have Roost Beef, Poached Salmon, Nuggets and some fried Prawns. To get some fibre out of the meal, there was a big bowl of vegetable soup. But with beef cubes in it la. And as usual, they were extremely salty. *Bleh*

I must say the Roost Beef was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. It was succulent, juicy, soft, delicious, tender, all sort of praises should go to this dish. The doneness is also to my liking, slightly pink without blood. But the best thing is you do not need to use any steak knife to cut it! How about that!?! It can be cut simply using a

Over here if I am not wrong was my supper last night. There was Grilled Chicken breast, Fried Fish and Beef Stew. At the corner is the CrabStick Mayo loh. I must say, the Chef must have use excessive tenderizer or something. Coz the meat are always soft and tender and juicy! The grilled Chicken Breast was juicy and soft and flavourful. Not a slight dryness or toughness on the meat. I really wonder how he does it...

This time they served something special. Something like a beef "wrap" with cheese on top. Then there was the Grill Chicken and Seared Fish. The fish is slightly dry i feel, as compared to the all time juicyness and tenderness in his food. As usual, the Chicken was great! Soft, slightly dry but tasty. Yum~

I should be de-mobing pretty soon le. Left the Tie-in of the risers into the PLEM. But seems that the divers are having a bit of problem pulling it in. So there is a slight delay. I guessed, the tie-in should complete by tomorrow morning ba. Guessed i will miss the food here, but then there are lotsa better food around too. So time to move on!

New Blog Skins~

Well, I had been pretty bored these days, as the contractors are busy with subsea work and there is really nothing much i could do, but stare at the little monitor for the ROV to see their progress.

I ponder over blog themes and decided to source for the ultimate skin that i would love. First, must thanks the designer for coming out a webpage for such themes (http://www.yanku-template.blogspot.com/) actually if u google around, you should find lotsa option. But in the end i chose his coz its RED~ lol Love the three columns format too!

Stay tune as i will be trying to inputs some widgets which i pretty like it. Guess it will slow done the downloading time, but i guess, it only works for people like me, offshore with limited internet access ba. Singapore have pretty much gone broadband, even the Wireless@sg is pretty darn fast!

E-Blackboard at Tuas Road

Was at the vicinity for a survey the other day. After the survey i was thinking of poping by this new (considered new for me) western stall in the coffee shop.

I remembered it used to be the first stall of Botak Jones. After it went crazily opening lotsa outlets all over Singapore, I guess they bared their roots here.
(FYI, I was a fan of Botak Jones before, when they had their stall here. But after they start to advertise, and incresing prices, I didnt really like them anymore. I felt kinda cheated when they say "Damn good food at Damn good prices" I think its more like "Okay food at ever increasing prices". Wahahaha

OK, back to E-Blackboard.

Here's how they look like.

I remembered someone was telling me that they are good before. Being the "always Curious" for interesting stuff guy, I have to stop over to grab a bite.

Guess wat i have choosen? Lamp chops... lol. Dun know y, i keep on having this lamb chop craze when ever I sees a decent westeren food outlet around. And this one didnt really fail the mark!.

Here's the lamp Chop. Looks nice hor! Well the meat is sufficiently tender. The taste is mild, but they have this "gluey" black pepper sauce, which is tasty but not that presentable loh.

If i am not wrong, i remembered paying almost $13 bucks for the food. I felt for a coffee shop in tuas, the price is a bit steep. I could have pick up the same lamb chop in Auston's Express in Jur East and they are cheaper and more flavourful. Maybe i should give them another chance and try their steaks instead.

Bored = Backdated posts

Nothing to do here since they are in the midst of fixing the MWA clamp. I nvr understand how one can sit in front of the computer for hours for jus surfing the net. It seems impossible for me even though there are limitless information in the net where you could explore.

So i guess i better do some time meaningful, like blogging. Playing games will be next. Wahaha...

Realised that i missed blogging the night where CC n Ade suggested to go for a buffet @ “Xin Fu Yin Cha” in International Building. So here are the nice pics of the food.

This is how the menu look like. (Notice the second page is one order only)

Nowadays I try to take the restaurant name since I tends to forgot where I took the photos after a while. :P (Oh the price is there too.)

First up is the Prawn Mayo.

The Coffee ribs. (Quite like this since they do not have the bitter after taste, felt that the chef did well to infuse coffee into the ribs.)

I think its deer or pork stir fried.

The Kway Tiao looks oily, taste oily but not gelate. Nice flavouring too.

The “abalone” imitation, actually is the “bailing gu” with spinach.

Can’t remember what is this le. Prawn deep fried with mayo I guess.

Stir fried prawns with celery. Nice~

Cereal prawns is a disappointing dish. Think the cereal is “lao hong” and a bit overdosed. Fried with some sugar should help actually.

Curry prawn. Now you might began to feel that we have lotsa prawn. I remember till now, the favouraite is still the coffee ribs. But this is the lousiest of the lot.

My all time favourite, triple egg spinach.

“Kacheong” Chicken

Sweet and sour chicken I guess.

Oh, I love those “la la”, they are fresh and juicy. Though there is a slight bit of sand at times, the taste is well worth the order.

“Jiang Chong Yu Pian” A common dish at any local “Zhe Char” stores. This one whips it our with fresh and large slices of fish. Though they taste like fresh water fishes. We felt the portion is generous and taste well.

Roast Chicken. One or the less salty dishes I would say. I remember I have to dip the salt to eat together. But still the portion is big n generous. (Correction... Josh says its actually the other way round... They are more salty. So we nvr use the salt. :P)

Stir fried mix mushrooms. Mushrooms are an all time favourite. Even though the presentation was not that nice, we still manage to finish them all. :P

Steam Prawns, I think the pic speak a thousand words. Fresh prawns = nice steam prawns.

Spinach with sea cucumber and shitake mushrooms. Decent, but definitely a good change of prawns, meat and stuffs.

Was thinking of waiting for WS to come before we order this, but since he cannot make it, we started ordering those one time only dishes. First to come is the Sharkfin soup. I guessed we are not disappointed. From the pic, you should be able to pick up the real pieces of sharkfins that were in the soup. The taste is good with a nice rich flavour and thick soup. *Thumbs up!*

The next “one time order” dish is the chilli crab. I think the photo looks fantastic actually, but the picture didn’t justify its taste. For it slightly bland and rather tasteless. “Hao Kan Bu Hao Chi”

Sorry for the lousy picture, for this is the scallop in XO sauce. Nice n succulent.

The roast duck came when we were all pretty full by then. It’s not that fantastic too, I defiantly tasted better roast ducks. I guess the West Coast one wins it already!

This is about the last dish before we ordered our dessert, mango pudding, “Guiling Gao” and … forget liao. Lol The red bean pancakes are my favourite in Chinese restaurant. For this, this jus marginally passed. Lol

After all these heavy meals, we took a stroll down to Hard Rocks (CC n Ade favourite drinking place) and had a couple of drinks and met up with WS who had just finish his work… (Cham leh)

Josh with the not so happy walking long to the pub. (Or was it he didn’t want to be pictured?) Whatever… lol

Ade looking nice, ever ready posed for a photo. Wahahaha

LOL. I guess he jus dun like to take the photos la…

CC n Ade looking nice in the pub. Esp when my SONY DSC W110 is only $199 nia can take as nice pictures as his Canon XXX DSLR with XXX lens. lol

See! Not bad wat. :P

This time with the flash, where the background looks clearer and the portrait, still good!
