Xing Wang Taiwan Cafe @ City Link Mall n Night at the Museum 2

Saw this "newly" (I haben been to Marina Square and Citylink Mall for quite a while already. And as i was passing by the other day, i sat this new restaurant replacing the previous japanese pasta cafe...

The food looks interesting, the price seems fair and the deco is decent. Hence i dragged Sean to the place today to try out the food. (End up, he foots the bill. lol. Thanks!)

Turns out, the portion was really small and the food was slightly bland...

The signature Taiwanese snack would have been this crispy chicken. Although it was not that bad, but it lacks the unique "taiwanese flair" I wouldn't be able to describe to you, but a trip to taiwan might tel. :)

The tempura was another type of taiwan popular food. But i felt it was not mimicking it, but to come out with another flovour n get popular with it.

Three main course we had was the Thicken soup of pork n mushroom with rice, the Herbal Chicken Mian Xian and the Lor Ba rice. Not that fantastic but they are reasonablely price and serviced.

Josh ordered this fried large intestine but was not that nice.

The Herbal Mian Xian

The loh bao rice which was pretty bland...

Dessert which we order were less then appertising too... This Peanut smoothie i tot was a drink. Turns out, its a peanut butter n milk blend with peanut butter on top. Well, as a none peanut butter lover, i quickly stopped after a few slurp.

The ice jelly lemon was much better since the jelly itself was refreshing and sweet. The lemon was moderately sour, but not to my liking.

The menu do look very nice n interesting.

As we left the restaurant, there was a long queue in front. I tot, all these hype about new restaurants nowadays are merely gimmicks for the people to spent. So many a times, taste is jus secondary. More people wants to try new things and stay "in" the restaurant wagon....

After the meal, we went shoe shopping as mine was in quite a sad shape. I needed another pair for backup. I enjoyed shopping with Sean as he would give me rather good recommendations and i would not end up asking myself the same questions if it was another person. (You know who) lol.

In the end, from a $265 Massimo Ditto flat to a $134 Rockport to a $360 - 15% Geox, I finally settle for a $97 Everbest. I think i made a sensible decision this time. The shoe was stylish, the quality was there and the price was great! What more do you expect when u got the best of all three worlds!

Lastly we went to have some snacks and drink at "Bao Today" before catching our movie "Night at the Museum 2"

Bao Toady had some nice Siew Mai and Har gaos. They are big and "prawny" taste is good too. No complains there. Except they sells this chinese tea on the menu, they taste like a mix of Pu Er and Tie Guan Ying. And cost me $1.50! Without refill some more!

Night at the Museum was not as captivating as the previous series. Though i tried to explain to Josh about the scenes in the first installments, even though it was being showed in channel 5 on sun evening, it didnt attracted his attention. But i would still says its an enjoyable show, though maybe watching on the DVD would be sufficient.
l u the answer. :)
