Had my first flight on a HELICOPTOR! It a super puma L2 if u guys know wat is it. :P
Didnt hav a chance to take a photo of it coz i was pretty freak out at the airport. It is because my luggage was more then 25kgs excluding my backpak! I printed lotsa notes on the procedures and had my coveralls, safety boots and tools with me. Surely it is heavy! I jus got news from the client that the limit was only 15kgs... i was pretty worried the whole morning as i didnt want to get into any trouble. Turn out, it was pretty alright, because my total baggage weight was 32kg... lol didnt want to look at the guy at the weighing scale as i was worried he will tell me to take out my stuffs. The guys did not allow us to carry any hp or stuffs, hence i didnt hav a chance to take a photo...
After the excitement, its a 1.5hrs long, boring ride. Nothing much to see as we reach the ocean. We can only see the clear blue seas from there. The seats were very small too. I guessed the "ang mo" owner rep from CUULONG, had an uncomfortable ride throughout. lol.
Once we reach the site, I could see lotsa vessel around the field. We stopped by another vessel before alighting at our barge.
It took us quite a while on the bridge (The navigation room at the top of the ship/barge) coz our rooms were not prepared and assigned. Took them almost 1hr to get the room ready and it was a tiny room! And i had to share with the ABS surveyor... I made a request to the project officer and managed to get ourself in a 4men room at least and which was much much comfortable. Maybe i will take photos later. :)
About the work here, everything was pretty smooth sailing albeit there was some minor gliches with the ROV which allow us to have our meals inbetween. (Guessed ROV need to eat too huh? lol). Anyway, meals on board are great! We had a good spread of stuffs from beefsteaks to fish n chips to HUGE porkchops to braised duck to curry chicken, jus to name a few. :)
Anyway, its been good life here. We dun need to wash our clothes as there is laundry service, we dun need to make our beds too as there is room service too. lol.
But i have to be up at wee hours to inspect some installations. So far, there have been 3-4 hrs sleeps in between which is not that bad. Last night i was up from 2am to 4. For the installation of the pile. Then i waited till 5 to eat breakfast before i hit the bed an d woke up at 10. Although its sunday here, but everyone still have to work. The people work on shifts here and since there is only one rep from my com, i have to be up every now and then n i need to catch sleep when ever i can.
Luckily there is internet connection here. At a dead slow speed though. Now trying to set up VOIP calls. Hope it works...
